SOS: Share of Search - Thoughts?

Just a quick one on your thoughts re. calculating Share of Search. I've been on a Binet and Ritson fest recently and was wondering if anyone had any success in calculating this? I'm aware of the methodology in how to do it, but the calculations involved seem particularly arduous. Not looking for shortcuts but feedback on anyone who has achieved success in doing so for your own site, or a client?
