I know that website authority isn't a thing, but I use it on a daily basis to explain my clients that don't know SEO how SEO works. it easier for me to say and for them to understand: "we have to get back links with high authority", than it is to say: " We have to get back links from websites that have a solid amount of traffic, that have done a keyword research and re driving traffic from different fonts, that also have a good off page SEO and have nice social media accounts, and last but not least that also have back links from websites that are also doing all that I mentioned before". I believe that as a professional using this concept might sound like you don't know about the subject, but to people that really don't know, don't care and need a quick and solid response it is a good term.
