On-site SEO for E-commerce. Home page content

Hi guys

Previously I made my home page super clean with no text. However, I would it be beneficial for SEO if I load up the home page with text? I don't think people are navigating/reading the home page anyways right? The most common action they take is to click the menu (as seen on HotJar).

Do you recommend putting more text laced with keywords on the front page? If people are scrolling below the fold, it doesn't affect UX I guess.
